Child and vacation?

If a child has been misbehaving non stop 2 weeks prior to a mini-vacation (3 days, 2 hours away), is it wrong to leave them at a friends house instead of going with the family?

I wouldn't take something that big away. I would take a lot of smaller stuff away but not that.
