Question:

Child car restraint safety laws?

I discovered my ex was making my 6 year old ride sitting on the floor of their car because there was no passenger seat. I estimate this must have happened at least 30 times. After I found out I insisted they install a seat, which they did before the next visitation. I am considering calling CPS because of the repeated endangerment of my child, but what can they do now since it has been fixed?

Is this criminal and if so what are the consequences?

  1. Oh my Gosh! I hope answer #1 was being sarcastic too! I would check with your local health department/county building for information on child safety. Depending on what state you are in, this offense may earn just a ticket or a ticket and additional fine...it depends. You could still consult CPS if you are concerned that he will do it again. The child's safety always comes first. Good Luck.

  2. its dangerous but a lot of people do it so i dont worry about it.
