  1. NO  but if it's more than 2 hours of babysitting YES, it's sounds dumb but if anything happens and he/she gets mad then you don't want to feel like you owe them anything....but you are doing a bit much for this person is it your child? if so the yes u should pay them not alot but some for the babysitting

    +of course it's not your child...sorry

  2. I agree with Arial, she should have some spending money of her own just for her sense of self worth/respect.  If you wanted you could not buy her gifts/cigs etc and give her cash to get her own - I wouldn't include the phone & car because they are no doubt used to help out with your own kids & run errands for you at times.

  3. well, everyone needs a little spending money now and then, for personal things and such, but it depends alot on how much she helps you and whether she can get another job or not with the things she is doing for you.

  4. I actually have a nanny that we exchange 20 hours of childcare for free rent (we have a small guest house) and it works perfectly.  We usually pay her a little cash for gas (because she picks up my kids).  How may hours a week does she watch and assist with the kids?  I personally don't think you should pay when you are adding all the extra expenses.  Good luck!
