Question:

Child care worker?

I was interested in child care providers that work at day cares, caring for small infants (2 weeks-2 years) but I don't know the name of that profession or what it would take to become one or really much of anything about them. Can anyone give me any answers or information about them?

  1. if you are in the u .s you can get your cda its a 9 month course and that what you need but before you can get you cda you need your 40 hours , CPR and first aid too

  2. I think nearly every country they are called Early childcare teachers/educators.

The courses are usually called Early childcare teaching, Certificate/Diploma/Bachelor in earlychildcare teaching,

  3. it is called baby-sitting

  4. I'm not sure where you are but here in Ontario we have ECE's:Early Childhood Educators, and ECA's: Early Childhood Assistant(which is what I am). Any college offers courses in either of these and I think that the average course is 2-3 years depending on which level you are interested in. You may also be able to work in a daycare setting(as an ECA) while you are obtaining your certification, depending on the daycare.

    Hope it helped.

  5. You want o study child development or Early childhood education.  You can do this as a human ecology , psychology or family and consumer science program.  The are all related.  You can take a course or complete a program at a vocational school.
