  1. Most the time they hire people with an associates degree (2 year) in childcare, but it would probably depend on the state laws.

  2. to be a lead teacher most day cares now require a minimum of a cda, which is a childhood development associates certificate, and some even want an AAS which is an associates degree in early childhood education, which is prek - 8th.

to be an assistant teacher you need a 12 year hight school diploma and the willingness to go on to school to get your degree

  3. also a police check and working with children's check

  4. Usually, if you want to teach - you'll need a teaching degree. If you just want to work in a daycare - you'll need a HS diploma or GED and a current health card.

  5. if you want to work in a daycare center you need to check with your state for guidelines.  normally it's 18 years of age and a high school diploma or ged.  don't be surprised at the low pay.

if you want to teach in a preschool program, like in a public school, you'll need to have a degree in education (early).  also, don't be surprised at the low pay.
