  1. Yes, the child could get SSI if his and his parents income falls below guidelines for SSI benefits.

If the parents have too much income the child could still receive TEFRA if your state has it.  (TEFRA is not a reward of funds but of services, equipment, supplies, and medical treatment.)

Also you will want to look into DDS Waiver also this is a federal, state matched program.

Go to your local DHS office, explain your situation and ask for "determination of services".   You will get many forms to fill out, then these forms will go to the main office they will determine if your child can get SSI or TEFRA.  And don't forget to ask to file for DDS Waiver there usually is a 3-4 yr wait for this service but once on it, a disable child can't be removed.

  2. It seems that SSI means supplemental security income. Perhaps you meant, can a child with all of these conditions be granted SSDI - social security disability insurance?

But you are saying that your child has Tourettes, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Selective Mutism and  Oppositional Defiant Disorber?

    Please clarify your question.

If your child really has all those conditions, and it was SSDI you wanted, then it sounds like SSDI is for people disabled on the job -not for people disabled from birth.

If on the other hand, your post is insincere, this sounds like the description of a typical teenager who's endured the traumatic stress of something and tries to upset their parent by either using bad language or not speaking. And I seriously doubt one could get insurance for that. But it would be nice :-)
