my step dad molested me when i was a child. my mother knew about it but no one reported it. my mother continued to be married to him and let him move back in after awhile. I am still bothered by this 15yrs later. I am thinking about reporting it now. would my mother get in any trouble for letting him get away with it?

  1. Yes, she would.  It is called "failure to protect" and also she was contributing to you possibly getting molested again by allowing him to live in the house.  You should report it.  Your mother should be ashamed of herself for not putting her child first and staying with that creep.  For failing to provide a safe home environment for you to live in.  I am so sorry that your mother has such low self esteem to stay with such a pervert and not do the right thing by reporting him to prevent him from doing this to another girl or allowing a situation for this to happen again.

The crazy thing is that you are trying to protect her by worrying if she will get into trouble when she did not even try to protect you when she knew this man molested you.  What a horrible mother!  Report it!!

  2. Both parents are at blame. Your mother knew about it.

I'm not sure if she would get in trouble

  3. umm the same thing happen to me my mom never did anything so i had to tell the school but that what happen to me when i was little but i think you waited to long but you can always try and you mom as long as she knew what happen and didnt do anything she would get in trouble but do what you think is right

  4. I believe nothing will happen because the statue of limitations is up. Just cut all contact with her and tell her that she is a sick b**** for letting her daughter get molested and that she will never ever be forgiven.

  5. i think the limitation is ran out. that happened to a friend of mine. if you are worried about your mom you need to find out the law in your state. i would do something though, maybe you can save another child he is around now. i am sure sorry that happened i know its a horrible thing best of luck to you
