Child molester arrested from Largo’s Municipal Golf Course

40-year-old Robert Paul Smith, a resident of Largo was arrested on Monday evening when the fire squad made a complaint at the local police station that they had found the culprit who was involved in a charge of sexual assault.  The police arrived at the course
at 3 pm and took Smith into their custody.
An official from the Largo police station told the media that a complaint was lodged against Robert Paul Smith on Saturday evening. As per the charges, Smith walked into Valrico Wal-Mart on Saturday and harassed six young girls by touching them on their
buttocks. He was confronted by the father of an 11-year-old after which Smith left. The father went to the police station in Hillsborough County and registered a complaint against the culprit. Police took immediate action against Smith and reached his residence,
which was situated on 18th Street SW, but the culprit fled.
The Hillsborough County police declared the culprit as wanted after watching the surveillance video.
However, on Monday, Smith was caught at the Largo Golf Course located on 12500 Vonn Road by the police.  The culprit had self-inflicted injuries and was taken to the hospital, but the Sheriff has issued two warrants in his name under the act of under-16
child molestation.  Smith has been charged for lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under 16. Moreover, according to the records of Florida Department of Law Enforcement, “the culprit is wanted in 2000 conviction in Pinellas County.”
According to the Sheriff, “Smith has self- inflicted injuries, which will be cured in a day or two. He might have injured himself to obtain a bail from the law enforcement agencies, which were looking for him. As soon as he winds up, he will be taken behind
the bars for judicial trail.”
