  1. Same problem...ALMOST!

Is the fathers name on the birth certificate?

If it is not he will have to sign a Form saying he is the father (you can get this from your cities court house)...you however cannot force him to sign it, you can force him to take a Paternity Test though, if you are willing to do that consult a lawyer.

As far as the child support since you are going through the state you will have to stay on there backs about the paperwork my friend went through the state and it took a little over a year I know how frustrating it can be.

By the way a man that doesn't want to take care of his child is not going to help/make it easy for you to make him pay child support.  Look online to see if you can find a lawyer that will work with you for free or for cheap cause sadly that is a much faster solution than waiting on the state.  Also now that he is in the military...they don't play games like other jobs would...as long as you have proof that he's the father or anything, his superiors should be pretty helpful.  There were several times I called my ex-husband superiors cause he was trying to not take care of his child.

Good luck honey, you'll be in my prayers.

  2. You filed with your state child support agency.  Ask them about the status of your case.  Asking anyone else, including the child's father's rec, is not getting an answer for anyone on your side.

Why did you not file for paternity when the child was born?  In that way, the child would have established some legal rights.

Now, it will take time.  In part, because the putative father is not convenient to the court, the process will take time.  In part, because Title IV-D agencies are underfunded in many states, you will be only one of hundreds of persons assigned to each child support officer.

Work hard on this and do not give up.  Your child's future is important.
