Child support in germany?

i am a US citizen i was wondering if i have to pay child support if i get a German girl pregnant. any details on how this works?

  2. I don't know the law, but if you can afford to pay something, don't you think you should if it would better the child's life?

  3. You would need to consult an attorney on the legality of how it would all work.  Morally, you should want to help meet all of your child's needs.  It shouldn't be a matter of "having" to pay child support.  You should want to.

  5. Germany is one of the few countries that has a reciprocal child support policy with the US --mostly because of all of the US Soldiers who are/were stationed there.

    She would still have to go through the German courts, who would then process it through the US courts (assuming you are in the US, etc)

    So - yes. By law - and of  course, by moral obligation - you would have to pay child support.
