Child support law if dads from another country?

Does anybody knowledgeable in child support laws knows how it works if the dad is from and lives in another country (Dominican Rep.)? is it even possible to make him pay or something?

  1. The United States has reciprocal treaties with many other countries which allows enforcement of child support obligation when the absent parent is in another country.

    In practice, it is slow and difficult.
