  1. Hi Hun the link below tells you what you need to know ..hope it helps x

  2. Tax credits are an extremely complicated subject and even HMRC gets it wrong.  See your local Citizens Advice.  They have a computer program that works out your entitlement and allows them to try out different scenarios.

  3. My husband works 37 hours and when I was on maternity (and later quit) we got child tax credit but never working tax credit. Now I am back at work, 21hrs, and still get quite a nice amount of child tax credit! Although saying that it is extremely hard to keep it right as we've had a payrise and I'm due another in September, but I am also going to cut my hours down to 19hrs, so to work out what our joint income for the year will be is nigh impossible!

My only advice is to OVER estimate so at the end of the year they will owe YOU money rather than you owe them!

  4. no your partner is working more than 16 hours so you will get it if you 2 ain't on to much money . your local jobcentre will give you the number to phone then

  5. You should still get Child Tax Credits - thats not dependent on how many hours you work, but your income.  Even people who are unemployed can get Child Tax Credit if they have kids.

Working Tax Credits can be affected by how many hours you work - but if you are a couple you would only receive one lot of working tax credit (if your income was low enough).

My partner works fulltime but gets Working Tax Credit as he's low waged.  I work 15 hours a week and get Child Tax Credit.

  6. go on to the web site and go to the section do i qualify.put in what you expect to work and earn and your partners and it will calculate what you will be entitled to.

  7. What country are you in?

  8. No, you have to do at least 16 hours between you. I work 10 hours and my husband works 36 and we get child and working tax credit. You may find that you are not actually earning very much as what you earn gets taken off the amount you are entitled to : you get to keep about 30p in every pound you earn or thereabouts.

  9. if you earn over £15000 joint or single wage you wouldn't get working tax but would still get child tax credit it all goes on the amount you earn more than the hours i think

  10. not sure.....sorry

  11. I am not completely sure about this as Tax Credits are very complicated. With child tax credits they don't take into consideration the hours you work as long as you have a child that you care for. The amount depends on how many children there are and if a child is below a year old or has any disabilities. With working tax credits there is what they call the 30 hour element if you are claiming as a couple. But you have to be working a minimum number of hours. I think that it's 16 hours per week.  The amount you get also depends on how much your gross joint income was for the last tax year.

Good luck and make sure that you get what you are entitled to...

  12. you can get child benifit and working tax credit
