If you had a child out side the marriage with a US born double US/Italian citizen that you don’t want to marry. Would you allow, your child/you to live permanently with the fathers, Italian parents (your child grand parents), and allow them to raise your child as an Italian expatriate, who can fool the average Italian (who is familiar with Americans) that your child is from Sicily not America. In other words they want your child to be raised in a bilingual English/Italian language setting. Would you allow your child/yourself to go yearly to Sicily (Italy) and allow your child to have an American and Italian passport. Italians are more family oriented than you think, and raise there children in a more stable environment than most Americans and spend more time with both parents than you think.

  2. what's your question exactly?

would I allow to my child to be bilingual and bicultural??

yes! of course, I want my child to have the opprtunity to explore other languages/cultures and understand the importance that all people are different but the same.

My son is very well rounded already. I am half Bolivian and my son goes to South America for a few weeks in the summer and my husband is from the Caribbean and he also goes down to the islands a few weeks a year. He also understands 3 languages fluently.
