for school i have to create a junk toy suitable for a child age 0-5 years but i am stuck on what to create. do you have any ideas?

Make a nesting toy.  Using cups of different sizes big to little.

paint old cereal boxes or cover old cereal boxes with newspaper...........or use an old coffee tin and the lid.  cut an opening in the lid the way you would for a 'piggy bank'.  use old jar lids from baby food, milk jug lids, etc.. for the 'coins'.

make a touch box.  take a box and cover it with different materials with different textures.  One side with some really soft fabric, another side with plastic or something, crumble up some foil for a rough texture, and so on...   Try to make it different colors and different textures.  This is a learning technique for infants and toddlers.
