50 years ago, when I was growing up, the entire world was a kinder, more simple, caring place.  Kids were kids much longer back then, playing and imagination lasted much longer, we still played with dolls in the eighth grade and only wondered about French Kissing and such. You wanted to make good grades, and you had more time to do what you wanted.... today kids are involved in too many things that push them too hard and leave little time to be a "child".

oh my yes, thanks to the television, and computers, being a child to me isnt as much fun today, as it was back then, too many pressures put on little ones to grow up too soon...sad sad sad..

No. To be sure, the enviornment has changed dramatically, but childhood is still filled with play, learning, exploring, fun, etc.
