  1. I used to have a good childminder who would take care of my son from morning till night time cus I used to have weird work hours. I used to pay her 100 pounds a week. She would also take him during the weekends wich was great.

  2. Childminders can ask for whatever they like! It really depends on the are they live in and how many kids they are allowed to look after.  I know of some who charge only £1 an hour, other go all the way up to around £5 an hour.  I suppose you've got to balance it to suit your own circumstances - if you charge too little you won't make enough to live on, but if you charge too much parents probably won't pay it!

  3. It depends where you live.  I live in West London and paid £4 per hour last year, I don't use a childminder now so rates may have gone up since.

  4. £1 per hour but it is only my mum lol. I pay her £40 a week to look after my 2 children whilst i work 9-5pm.

  5. it depends on where you live as to what the going rates are. ring around a few and see what they are charging and what is included in the price. where i live the going rate is between 2 and 4 pound. I charge an hourly rate that goes up after 6pm and again if i work a saturday. for someone that works different shifts each week but the same amount of hours i work out a fixed weekly rate. If youre going to charge at the higher end of the scale you need to justify this to the parents by what it covers eg: snacks, meals, trips etc. you can ask for whatever you think is reasonable. remember you have to make a living.

  6. My niece of 14 (almost 15) gets paid £4 per hour for child minding

  7. anything from £3 to about £5 per hour depending on experience and qualifications

as well as how good your ofsted report as and what you offer eg meals, days out etc

    Edit

There is no such thing as a minimum wage for a childminder as you are paid per child and depending on how many hours they are with you

  8. I presume it will be at least the minimum wage because they have to be checked by the social services and a criminal record check and one for paedophiles, if you are not a registered childminder you will legally have to have a childminder certificate and a first aid certificate and Health Care level 1.

  9. I charge £2.30 per hour for the first sibling, £1.80 for second sibling and so on. I also usually ask for a few ppounds towards food and school run etc - but dont do it! The parents I work for are lovely, but you are so unappreciated its unbelieveable!! And you dont get to spend as much time with your own kids as you think (if you have any!) I am actually in the process of changing jobs I dislike it so much.
