Children's braces?

my daughter is on Florida Kidcare Ins. and I was told today she needs braces well her Ins doesn't pay for it.So what I need is a dentist that takes payments,and who is also very gental.And also someone I can afford.

  1. First you don't go to a dentist for braces you go to an orthodontist. Most orthodontists have payment plans but they are usually very short term, perhaps 12 or 24 months. You will need to have her evaluated for total fee, probably 3000 to 5000 and she will need her cleaning and dental repairs done first. I would have to wonder if you are on a welfare card if you could realistically afford those kind of payments and I couldn't agree more that anyone collecting free medical care shouldn't be allowed frills such as orthodontics that those of us that work and pay all our own bills often times cannot afford.


  2. Braces are a cosmetic procedure.  Unless they are really messed up, don't get them. Besides, if you are the religious type, God make her teeth just that way.  He knew what he was doing.

  4. I cant answer your question but i can comment on the above poster. I work full time and so does my husband and there is no way in heck that we could afford braces without a good low payment plan. assuming someone is on public aid just because they need low payments is dumb, nosy and mean.
