Children's craft for refugee week?

I am doing a storytime for children aged under 6 years and the theme for the week will be refugees (for a tie in for the refugees week June 18-24), does anyone have an recommendations?

Are you kidding me?  What kind of child that age gets the concept of refugees?  But if your center makes you do that I would suggest telling the children that there are other kids that are sad because they don't have a nice place to live like we do and then maybe suggest they may want to draw pictures for them or would they like to come up with a way to raise money and send it to them.  Let the children think up how they can help these children.

you could do crafts related to peace. the concept of a refugee might be hard for a child under 6 to understand. there's a great book out there called The Peace Book by Tod Parr. in it, it says things like 'peace is everyone having a home'. it's really appropriate for preschoolers. then you can talk about what they think peace is and briefly bring in the concept of refugees. ultimately, why we have refugees is a lack of peace. here's a link to peace activities:
