Does anyone know of any children's books which promote the theme 'love thy neighbour"? Im trying to teach the message of the good samaritan, but dont want to use the actual bible stories. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Try these books.  They all promote neighborly love, however, they don't quite reach the level of being helpful like the Good Samaritan.  But Barnes and Noble has great searching tools, so if you start with these, you may find what you are looking for.

  2. STEVEN KING

  3. You may check in the library at town. I'm sure there is a fable for the situation you want to teach those kids. I've used the Book of Bible Stories, but I see you don't want to use those. Oh, and you might even read Aesop's Fables. Here is a list of nice ones that may help with your teaching of "Love thy neighbor".

    1. Lion and the Mouse

    2. The Wind and the Sun

  4. Your local Library should have tons.  Just ask the childrens librarian she or he will be glad to help you.  They will even pull  them for you before you get there.

Some of my favorite commericals on TV are the ones from Liberty (I think) where one person helps out another and it goes around, everything from picking up a dropped baby toy, moving a cup of coffee from the edge to sharing an umbrella.

Helping others with out expecting anything in return is loving your neighbor.

    Good luck

  5. There is a good CD, to sing along with, that teaches being kind to friends and neighbors.

It is titled  "The World Is A Rainbow"

I LOVE that song and believe its words apply to everyone.
