Does your child try to chew on baby wipes?

Everytime I get the baby wipes out my 21 month old daughter immediately grabs a wipe out of the container and sticks it straight in her mouth. I don't think they will hurt her as they are made to use on babies but I'm not sure if its normal or if my daughter is just odd. Lol.

  1. She is just a kid and they associate everything in life through thier mouths! But it is not a good idea to let her put the chemical wipes in her mouth they are topical only and do pose a hazard. Enjoy her!

  2. I dont know what it is with kids but i think they like chewing on wipes my son is 2 and he still chews on wipes. Well he really chews on everything lol...

  3. I don't think that's bad, my son who is 2 months is learning how to get a grip on stuff, I always let one wipe loose and he tends to get it and put it in his mouth, but I grab it away from him.

  4. It's not odd.  My son is 6 months and I always cover his pee pee with one while I use another to wipe him with and if I turn my head for even a second it's in his mouth when I look back again.

  5. It's normal.  Your daughter doesn't know that they're not for putting in her mouth.  I don't think they're bad, my son gets his into his mouth too.

  6. My 14 mo old does it too...try to keep them out of her mouth as they do have chemicals in them.  I dont really know what's in them.

  7. the wipe was my best friend when my son was an infant....it was the only thing that would occupy him while I was changing his diaper!!  And when my son was about 6 mos old, I also watched a 4 month old, and a 2 month old....and they all played (and put in their mouths) with wipes....I'd just make sure they didn't play with one unsupervised (in the event they get it in their throat and can't get it out)....anyway...just my opinion...good luck!!

  8. My 17 month old likes to eat them too. Totally normal. He's teething too. I try not to let him have them.

  9. Just use washcloths. Baby wipes have too many chemicals in them anyway. It's not good for her to chew on them. Using washcloths isn't wasteful and it's safer. Just my opinion.
