  1. usually 30-40lbs for booster and shoulders must come up to belt strap

  2. when they get to big for the baby seat. from memory i think mine were around 2 to 3 years. they werent big children so they were comfortable in the baby seat till then.

  3. if child has out grown carseat next step is a todller seat when child has out grown that by height weight and age set on carseat/toddler seat should move to a boster seat till they are 4'9.

  4. Again, it depends on the seat. They do make highback boosters for those of us whose children are bigger than normal with a 5 point harness, cosco has a few out, I've seen them both at Wal-mart and biglots for about 35 dollars. My daughter outgrew her infant seat at 9 months old so we had to go to a rear facing convertible seat, which we had to turn around at 11 months because it was more dangerous for her legs to be tucked up to her chest. She's 19 months now and is too big for the convertible seat even though it ranges to 40 lbs, she's too tall, her head sticks out, which is dangerous. There are people who say I should go spend 400 dollars I don't have on another convertible carseat, but after discussing it with the pediatrician we've decided we're going with a highback booster seat with a 5 point harness. It will eventually turn into a regular booster with the seatbelt, until she's too tall for that, and then we will go to the 15 dollar booster. My daughter has ridden in a seat belt only booster and did just fine, although for my piece on mind we'll continue to use the 5 point as I don't want her climbing out of her seat if she's not in the mood for a ride, lol. But the average weight and height for a highback booster is 22-60 lbs, and 34 to 57 inches in height as well as 2-3 years of age. My brat is 32 lbs and 36 inches. For a noback booster its 4 years of age, 40 lbs and 36 inches tall. Good luck!

  5. i think you go by the childs weight...check the seats to see!

  6. The minimum is four years and 40 pounds. Before that, a child is neither physically or developmentally mature enough to sit in a booster safely. There are several different car seats out there that will harness a child until he or she is around the age of 5-6. A booster is always a step down in safety, so ideally, a child should sit in a harnessed seat for as long as possible.

  7. I use a Compass car seat. I first used it with the five point harness when my daughter was 2, and now she uses it with just the regular seat belt. I love it!

  8. I have the Graco turbo booster, it's a highback one for my daughters. I switched them to boosters at 4, they were about 40inches and a little over 30lbs.
