Why is it important for children to develop empathy ?

  1. empathy is a needed ingredient in understanding other peoples perspective.  It allows students to interact in social situations, on the playground and in general with life.  You need to have empathy and understand others point of view in academic tasks as well.  Understaing the why of an action in a book or story helps them in their reading comprehension skills.  If you only thing that one way is right - you don't get when the story doesn't go the way you think it should - and you won't know why.

    Many times is is lacking in students on the Spectrum or students with Emotional difficulties.
