is this normal? did or does your child do this?

I know it can be exploration of the body and can be normal for children but was wondering is it a phase most children go through?

  1. Yes it is a phase that most children go through.  You just need to remember not to scold or yell at them as they don't know why it is "wrong".  The more you press them to not do it, the more likely they are to keep doing it!  I am a pre-school teacher and most of my parents just talk to the child about appropriate touching and how other people should not touch you, etc.  It is normal for children to explore their own bodies we just tell them we do not do it in front of other people like at school, etc.  Hope this helps!

  2. Yes, it's a phase *most* children go through. My five year old though hasn't yet started doing it (but my 16 year old was already going through this stage at 5 so it can vary widely from child to child).

  3. my sons all did that when they were little and my mom who is a mother of ten said to not make a big deal of it and it will pass:) they are curiouse and you know she was right!:)

  4. THERE WAS THIS LITTLE BOY WHO,S MA CAUGHT HIM "PLAYING "WITH HIMSELF IN THE BATH, AND WHEN HIS MA TOLD HIM OFF, THE LITTLE BOY REPLIED," ITS MINE, AND I,LL WASH IT AS FAST AS I LIKE" BOOM BOOM.

  5. you should explain more id ont understand

  6. All kids I know have gone through this.  Both my little brothers and my two girl cousins were caught showing each other their "goods".  They are just curious.  My niece and nephew did the same.  Now would be the appropriate time to talk to them though and tell  them how those are their private parts and no one else should touch them and that it isn't appropriate to show them to other people.  We just had this conversation with my step son.

  7. Yes, it's normal.  You should talk to your child about appropriate touching.

  8. it is ok for them to look at them selvs and play (Belive me My son likes to strech his and squeez it he is 3) If older and looking at another of opisit s*x you may want to take this time to teach good and bad touches. Dr is ok with cloths on and if young girls (under 5) the chest is ok too. Keep an eye on it at all times.

  9. Its definitely a phase my daughter and son (2½ and 1½ respectively) have discovered that they each have something different and my daughter seems fascinated my her brothers "wee man" and cant understand why she hasnt got one.  My son also takes great delight in himself and can quite often be found with his nappy off stetching it for all its worth

  10. yes, it's quite normal, my daughters use to do it all time, their just exploring themselves, it won't lead to anything crazy.

  11. My 1yr old is absolutely fascinated by his p***s at the moment, as soon as I change his nappy his hand goes straight there and he pulls it to pieces almost. I don't worry about it at all, children need to find out about themselves and self touching is a completely normal part of a child's development.
