Question:

Children who are raised mainly by nannies?

It seems that there are a lot of families where both wife and husband are working highly ranking full time jobs - which takes up a lot of their time.

Are there many consequences for raising children with nannies? I don't mean that the children never see their parents, but those who receive most of their attention from those hired to care for them.

Do they grow up with a weak relationship to their parents? Are they more likely to act out or disobey?

  1. They just turn out to be brats. They think you can have people do everything for you.

  2. it would depend on the nanny most Nanny's do what they are told to do nothing more or less  and as 4 brats just look at your local school i can bet every one on hear no  at least 1 brat at school its nothing to do with having a nanny ... some kids are alot better off with the nanny as some parents dont have a clue look how many go in to foster homes ..

  3. Take a look at something like Little House on the Prairie.  That mom was out plowing, milling wheat, whatever.  Thats a full time job.  The siblings and old folks were raising the youngins.  And the rich people had governesses, nannies, as you stated above.

Even today a lot of stay at home parents are consumed with cleaning, cooking, bill paying, (internet surfing :)  and are not paying full attention to the children 8 hours a day.

    That said.

I dont think the answer is clear cut.

  4. Depends. Each family is different.  My cousin was raised by a nanny.  He's 24 now and a very smart, responsible man and his relationship with his parents is good.

  5. Well...

it depends on the type of kid that you have.

i mean, if your kid ALREADY disobeys you then its not the "nannies" fault.

but sometimes if you NEVER seen them then, probably they will because the NEVER had a relationship with you.

But if you spend time with them and they don't disobey you now, they probably wont end up "bad" or whatever.

    Hope I helped
