OK, I have four boys, and I want to know from other parents or grandparents with multiples. What amount of jeans do you buy, sweat pants, cargos, and corduroy as I am trying to do their back to school list and want to make sure there is enough. Shirts & Sweaters as well. I am just curious as to weather this is too much or too little, I try to keep in fact I do Laundry Frequent and don't want them to feel shortened.

I usually do per child

Jeans - 8

Sweats - 3/4

Cargos - 2

Corduroys - 2

Shirts - 18

Sweaters - 3/4

Hoodie - 1

  1. I think it's a LOT!   Twelve pairs of pants is way too many.  You only need five new pairs, an old pair for Saturdays, and a nice pair for Sundays.   And 18 shirts is way too many!  Ten would be more than enough.....one for each school day.

It's your money, but they are going to grow out of some of this stuff so quickly, it's like money down the toilet!

  2. Sounds about right. Since kids outgrow things so fast I usually do:

    Jeans - 5

    Sweats - 2

    Cargos - 1

    Corduroys - 1

    Shirts - 9

    Sweaters - 4

    Hoodie - 2

    Shoes-2

  3. I'd add a jacket too. My son is horrible about alternately losing his hoodie or jacket. With jeans I buy 6 and keep them washed up. My son is so hard on his pants that I'd rather buy new by Christmas (and them not have the knees knocked out) than for him to have a few extra pair. With shirts is that thin long sleeves? I'd get a mix of thin and thick, possibly 10 thin and 8 thick. Don't forget sneakers. I also like to throw away all underwear and socks and buy new in the fall, so 8-10 pairs of underwear and 2 packs of socks.

  4. try 3 hoodies per kid
