  1. From the Knowledge Learning Corporation website:

    Our History

KLC began as Children's Discovery Centers in 1983. In 2003, following its acquisition of Children's World Learning Centers, it expanded to more than 700 community centers and 450 onsite school programs.

In 2005, KLC joined forces with KinderCare Learning Centers, Inc. (KinderCare). KinderCare was founded in 1969 and in 2005 operated over 1,250 centers. The KinderCare merger made KLC the nation's largest private child care and education provider.

    [Aside]

Having worked at a Children's World ages ago and then for KLC a couple of years ago, I wasn't surprised to see that though the company's name had changed, its reputation for inept management and substandard care remained pretty much the same. I quit after a few weeks.
