Can a father who has not supported his child or signed a birth certificate take a mother to court so that the child can have his last name?

  1. yes you can but it depends on the state you live in i would call down to you local courts and ask them


  2. He can, but he will not have a good chance at winning considering he has not provided financial support and he was never on the birth certificate.

  3. well first i would o to court to try to get visitation, you'll have to pay child support, than wait like 6 month, if you good and make the payments, and try it out...

  5. I don't think so, although by tradition, all children take on the name of their father. The case can be made in your favor, that if he doesn't care to help raise the child, why would he care to name it?
