Chile/thick dry salsa using fried pasilla chillies?

i am looking for a recipe for a salsa, but it is really dry, using only a couple tbsp of water, oil fried pasilla chilies, garlic.

i tried it once and i never had anything like it...it is hard to describe, but it is a thick dry salsa that is on the oily side. i've tried making it but is missing something, it doesn't taste like the one i tasted......if anyone knows what i am talking about, i will surely appreciate it.

thanks

  1. maybe you're talking about merken or merquen, which is not pasilla chili, but it's dry as well. Merken has chili, coriander seeds, cumin, and salt. It's traditionally red, but can be black if you choose another kind of chili.
