Chilean youngster Stefano Magnasco arrives at Bolton Wanderers for a trial
Stefano Magnasco, the 18-year-old Chilean defender, confirmed he was travelling to England where he would be undergoing a trial with English Premier League side Bolton Wanderers. The youngster made his senior debut this year, but it didn’t take long for scouts to notice him.
Magnasco impressed the Bolton Wanderers scouts, because of which he has earned himself a trial with the club. This will help him earn a move to the club in the future, which could be as soon as the January transfer window if things go smoothly.
His current side, Universidad Catolica, have permitted him to travel to England for the trial. However, it was only after Magnasco signed a contract with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chile-c2871 Primera Division side. Now if the right back transfers, the club will receive a hefty compensation.
The youngster revealed he was happy with his current side, but felt the opportunity of a trail with Bolton Wanderers was too good to turn down. Magnasco said he expected the English Premier League side to tell him if they felt he was good enough to play in England.
Magnasco said while speaking to reporters:
“I have to seize this chance, and if I am not ready they will tell me.
It never hurts to take advantage of this situation.”
There were previously rumours that claimed the youngster would be able to move to Bolton Wanderers if the club were interested for a minimal fee. However, Magnasco himself confirmed that he had signed a contract with Catolica before leaving for the trial.

He confirmed:
“Everything is done with the club, I signed a contract with the club to keep everybody happy, and everybody is happy.
The idea was to get on well with them and then hopefully everything will work out.”
While Magnasco is a right-back, he is capable of playing anywhere on the right flank, making him a highly versatile player. The player was expected to arrive in England on Sunday and begin his training with Bolton Wanderers the next day.
