Chin Eei h*i and Wong Pei Tty optimistic for better run in the 2011 China Masters Super Series
Malaysia’s Women’s Doubles shuttlers, Chin Eei h*i and Wong Pei Tty are optimistic for a better performance in the 2011 China Masters Super Series, which is set to begin in China on September 13.
Wong Pei and Eei h*i, who are currently ranked at Number 26 in the Women’s Doubles world standings, have been struggling hard to find their flow for the last eight months. Their best result in the current year was in April, when they won second spot in the
Australian Open Grand Prix Gold.
Both shuttlers have also been suffering with injuries which prevented them from delivering their hundred percent. They have not yet recovered fully from these injuries but are determined to put everything they have in their matches against all opponents
they face in the event.
At the World Championships last month, the duo lost to Japan’s Reika Kakiiwa and Mizuki Fujii in the Women’s Doubles second round. They failed to make their mark over the Japanese pair because they were lacking the finishing touches in their strokes against
the spirited opponents.
In the opening round of the championship, Wong Pei and Eei h*i will be up against Kamilla Rytter Juhl and Christinna Pedersen of Denmark. If the Malaysian ladies remain successful in the first-round battle, then they will face China’s Zhao Yunlei and Tian
Qing, who are fourth seeds in the tournament.
While talking about the Women’s Doubles draw, Eei h*i said, “The draw is tough for us, so we have no specific targets. We just want to play and we will go all out from the first round itself. Hopefully, we will be able to create a few upsets and earn some
much needed points to qualify for the Olympics.”
She further added, “After the China Masters, we have the Denmark, France and German Opens in October and hopefully the draw will be kinder to us.”
Wong Pei and Eei h*i are hopeful to deliver a better performance and get good results in the China Masters despite having top shuttlers in their road to glory.
