Chin Eei h*i and Wong Pei Tty surge into Women’s Doubles semi-final of Malaysia Open GP Gold
Malaysia’s veteran shuttlers Chin Eei h*i and Wong Pei Tty secured their seat in Women’s Singles semi-final at the Malaysia Open GP Gold 2012 at Johor Bahru in Malaysia, on Friday, May 4.
Eei h*i and Pei Tty worked to their maximum potential in the quarter-final clash and got rid of Japan’s Yonemoto Koharu and Yuriko Miki in a thrilling contest.
The Malaysian shuttlers, who are the second seeds in Women’s Doubles draw of Malaysia Open, had to employ their experience to chuck out their Japanese opponents and remained successful in winning the match in rubber games.
On the other hand, Yonemoto and Yuriko played well in the opening set and bagged it with a decent margin.
However, the Japanese shuttlers could not live up to expectations in the second and third games and lost the match with a comfortable score on the board.
In the first game, Eei h*i and Pei Tty started their campaign in a composed manner but they failed to take lead until the break as their Japanese opponents put up gutsy performance in the court.
After the break, Eei h*i and Pei Tty could not do well as they played quivering badminton and eventually lost the set with a big margin of 15-21.
In the second set, Eei h*i and Pei Tty played different badminton as they dominated the pace while working well at net. Until the break, they were ahead of their Japanese rivals in the game.
After the mid-game interval, Eei h*i and Pei Tty were in full control and they did not let their un-seeded opponents to find a good rhythm.
The Malaysian ladies took the second game with a decent 21-17 margin on the score board.
In the decider, Eei h*i and Pei Tty were everywhere in the court as they played with complete control and managed a convincing lead of 11-6 until the break.
After the break, Eei h*i and Pei Tty continued cheering their home fans by playing positive and fast badminton.
The second seeds did not face tough resistance from their challengers and won the set with a huge margin of 21-11.
Eei h*i and Pei Tty emerged as the winners in this 54-minute quarter-final battle with an entertaining margin of 15-21, 21-17 and 21-11.
