Chin Eei h*i wants to end her career in style at the 2011 World Championships – Badminton news
Malaysia’s talented shuttler in Women’s Doubles category, Chin Eei h*i, wants to end her career in style by reaching in the semi-final of the 2011 World Championships, which are set to start from Monday, August 8, in London.
This will be her last participation at the World Championships, as she will retire before the next edition of this event which will be held in 2013. The 29-year-old Chin Eei is set to participate for the sixth occasion in the World Championships and is also
determined to play top-class badminton to produce some good results along with her partner, Wong Pei Tty, in this event.
While talking about her performance in England in the starting period of her professional career, Chin Eei said, “I did not start well in England but I want it to end well here. This should be my last world meet.”
The target of Chin Eei in this world meet is to reach at the semi-final stage, however, winning a medal would be a bonus. The shuttler will deliver her best to make her last World Championships campaign a good memory.
She said, “It will be a bonus if Pei Tty and I can win a medal. We have come so far and gone through many hardships together. It will be great to end our journey in the World Championships in a memorable way.”
Chin Eei knows that the World Championships will be very tough for the duo as all top shuttlers from around the world are competing in the event. “It seems to be getting harder every time. We have a challenging draw and it will be tough right from the first
round,” added Chin Eei.
World Number 26, Wong Pei and Chin Eei are set to meet England’s Gabrielle White and Jenny Wallwork in the first round of Women’s Doubles category. If the Malaysian duo passes the first hurdle, they will be facing Japan’s Reika Kakiiwa and Mizuki Fujii in
the second round. The Japanese shuttlers are seeded at number four in the Women’s Doubles draw.
