What repercussions, if any, do you think China's next generation will face? Last i heard the ratio was 134:100. It's not homework lol just interesting to me.

  1. As I understand it, the national average ratio is actually around 118:100, but it's up to 122:100 out in the rural areas. Your number may have been accurate but outdated. China's been working to reduce the imballance. For example, in China doctors may not tell the parents their baby's gender before birth.

One repercussion, obviously, is that quite a few men are unable to find a wife. As far as s*x this hasn't had a huge effect on the Chinese society because prositution is rampant here. What will most likey happen is that China will start encouraging female immigration into and sending males immigration out of the country.

Another effect is that it's becomming more and more difficult to be a man in modern China. The women are valuble, and they know it, so they are becoming very selective about who they marry. It's a common joke in Shanghai that a girl won't marry a man until he buys her a house and a car!

  2. It probably will make 34% of the population ready to go to war out of frustration, hostility and h*rniness.

  3. I doubt if there will be any major repercutions, other than a slow in the birth rate.  It's difficult to speculate when it comes to gigantic social movements.

    Also:

    "at birth: 1.11 male(s)/female

    under 15 years: 1.134 male(s)/female

    15-64 years: 1.057 male(s)/female

    65 years and over: 0.914 male(s)/female

    total population: 1.06 male(s)/female (2007 est.) "

"This entry includes the number of males for each female in five age groups - at birth, under 15 years, 15-64 years, 65 years and over, and for the total population. s*x ratio at birth has recently emerged as an indicator of certain kinds of s*x discrimination in some countries. For instance, high s*x ratios at birth in some Asian countries are now attributed to s*x-selective abortion and infanticide due to a strong preference for sons. This will affect future marriage patterns and fertility patterns. Eventually, it could cause unrest among young adult males who are unable to find partners."

  4. i fear that because of china's immense population and skewed m:f ratio, it might one day decide to expand it's borders even further in pursuit of natural resources and....wives?!

most asian countries would be helpless against an aggressive, horny chinese military.

  5. It wil lead to the further forced subservience of women. Women will become a valued "commodity".  People think it will give women more power because they will be "rare" but it won't.  It'll make 'em more vulnerable to rape and even worse.

  6. It wil lead to the further forced
