in Exile of the American Legion or does it mean China Post #1 is part of the American Legion in Exile? (In exile of communist countries?)

  1. Prior to World War II there existed a very small but noticeable Marine (26th Regiment) Corps and Navy (The U.S. Asiatic Fleet) presence in China until the Japanese war in China forced us to withdrawn.  During World War II a number of U.S. Army Army Air Corps fighter pilots served in China either with the American (Flying Tigers) Volunteer Group and later following Pearl Harbor with the U.S. Fourteenth Air Force.  I think that you're find that many of the founding members of the China Post were these veterans.
