China has pledged to rebuild the quake devastated area to pre-quake levels or better within 3 years.

A few years ago, after China went through devastating floods they pledged to rebuild those brick and mortar homes within one year, they met that goal ahead of time.

While the USA is still tallying the aftermath of Katrina 3 YEARS LATER!!

Why do we accept this laziness from our government?

Peace

  1. When your idea of rebuilding is to put up buildings of a quality that doesn't even match an average American dog house ......

  2. Easy dude,  Denounce your American Citizenship.  Stay in the COMMIE place you are and get over your hatred for america.

The world isn't out to get you and you are no better than anyone else.

You need to get over your feelings of inadequacies and then you can look at the world with honest feelings.

    PEACE

  3. One thing to remember about Katrina: New Orleans was a 67% black city. The republicans don't get many votes from blacks. That being said, China reacts better to disaster anyway.

New Orleans is America's shame. I'm American and I'm ashamed of us. That's how I know.

  4. We're fat & lazy.

I don't think the Chinese government has any problem getting the labor force together.

  5. It's common sense, China would vote (if they were free to vote) for a democracy.  They have the people power to pull off amazing "stunts" as witnessed by the Beijing games.  I believe they can do whatever they believe they can do, as do I believe Americans can nominate an African American to the Presidency despite the tradition of Whities Only allowed in the club.  HEY Tiger Woods beat the standard, why can't Barack?

  6. In my opinion, China at least has been helping their people, notice the recent earthquakes would be a fine example. They also own major banks in the US, since we're broke, we rely on China to pay for our junk, like the occupations, aid, welfare, and etc. At least China has the sensible policy to have deals to oil fields in Iraq, not invade them. WE, the US government, and partially the people for not keeping the government in check, have failed to keep her fiscally responsible, and advocate non-interventionism foreign policies.

Overall, if we don't act quick, China will no doubt the next superpower with a booming/capitalistic economy, modernizing military, and owning the US financially. Good question.

  7. And upon who's backs did China do this?  Oh, and how can you accept any "official" Chinese news source as an UNbiased source, when they have no trouble lying about the ages of their female gymnasts?

Guess you must suffer from the "China Can Do No Wrong Syndrome."

Certainly, I'm not saying the US is perfect, NO one is perfect.  But I will take the US over the Chi-coms ANY day.

    Have a right-wing day.

  8. Government has been shirking its basic responsibilities since the '80s, when Ronald Reagan sold us his belief that the sick, poor and unlucky should no longer count on "big government" to help them, but should rather live and die at the whim of contributors to private charities.

Both China and India are putting out large populations of new engineers every year. Of course, some of the engineering colleges in these countries are better than others - and you would expect there to be a correlation between research in those universities and the quality and quantity of the work.

The U.S. can't compete with this.

College dreams come with an increasingly high price tag. And for parents who hope to make that dream a reality for their offspring, tucking a little extra money away doesn't cut it, either because the extra money isn't there or because it's not enough. While nearly four out of five parents (78 percent) plan to make, or have made, sacrifices to afford the cost of college attendance, almost two-thirds (64 percent) are making more than one sacrifice. Its not enough.

  9. good question. how many people would be in prison in USA if it had the same population as China? USA most likely would have been the poorest country with any means you look at it unless if they would have adopted the same system of politics!

Wyomugs : i don't think you would have said what you said ( But I will take the US over the Chicoms ANY day) if you were a poor victim of Katrina; poor as a result of Katrina that is!  peace

  10. China still has slave labor buried in the foundations of some of their buildings.

Personally I'm fine with the response to Katrina, gave people plenty of time to loot.
