Around the world, growing affluence in countries like china and india are spending more money on food and gasoline. Would a similar trend be seen in something like beer? I mean with more discretionary income due to increased salaries, they would be able to spend more money on recreational drinks such as beer. And with their Americanizaton, would they be more inclined to purchase Bud, Coors etc.?

  1. Sure they buy more beer... but their own.   Why would they bother importing substandard American mainstream brews?  Bleah!  Besides, the Indian style of beer is so far removed from Budweiser or MGD that there is simply no comparison.

And remember, in a lot of these places (just like from our own colonial history) beer-brewing is simply a way to make the water safe and drinkable by introducing a favorable faunal environment and an alcohol disinfectant.

  2. yes they will buy beer and spirits all you have to do is look at japan and see how they emerged to a high standard of living china and India are the next two that may become Americanized that will but up the price of most goods as the demand gets greater but the supply may not just think how much raw materials you need to feed maybe 250 million to say500 million more people with some money to spend some people will lose out maybe more moonshine  getting drank in the future

  3. oh yeah, most definitely all they need to do is market it over there with one of are many famous actors and bam ! beers is being sold..lol
