China beat Japan in water polo match: Day three – 2012 Men’s Pan Pacs, Melbourne
China has beaten Japan in their third water polo match on day three of the 2012 Men’s Pan Pacs, on Tuesday, January 10, at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC).
After winning two consecutive games, the Chinese have put together a lot of effort to sustain their winning streak. Nevertheless, their third match was not an easy win as they experienced strong resistance from their opponent, Japan, who struggled hard throughout the four-quarter game.
The match was pretty tense from the blow of the whistle, where both teams showed their eagerness in taking control of the ball. The silence of the crowd was broken by China’s Ning Pan, who scored first goal of the match.
His efforts were followed by Kan Aoyaqi of Japan, who became successful in scoring first goal for his team. In the meantime, China’s Junmin Xie displayed her heartfelt efforts and scored second goal for his team, making the score 2-1. After a short time, Japan’s Atsushi Naqanuma hurled the ball in Chinese goal, levelling the score 2-2 in first quarter.
The gruelling efforts continued from both sides, but China remained successful in taking lead in the second quarter, where they scored two goals against Japan’s one goal, with score being 4-3 after the second round.
In the third round, China cemented its place for the victory by accomplishing two goals whereas the Japanese squad failed to show any favourable advancement in their game and were able to add one goal to their scorecard.
With victory depending on performance of both teams in the final quarter, China went on a rampage and scored a magnificent goal just after the start of fourth quarter. Subsequently, Japan elevated its efforts and scored two consecutive goals, arousing hopes of their fans. Meanwhile, Chinese players geared up their efforts and showed their commitment by striking their second goal of the quarter.
The match concluded with commendable victory of Chinese players, who took out a wonderful 8-6 win over Japanese. The next match of Chinese team is scheduled with USA and the fans are eager to see which team wins the game.
