China defeats Puerto Rico by 3-0 in a Women’s World Grand Prix match – Volleyball news
The first match of the home team of China took place with Puerto Rico on June 8, 2012 in the World Grand Prix- Women. The city of Macau is currently playing host to the tournament while the venue of the competition is the Macau Forum.
Cheered on by the home crowd, the Chinese were able to make it to the end with three straight sets in their bag in just over an hour. The superior performance of the Chinese squad enabled them to win each frame of the game by a comfortable margin. The score
board sowed the following final set scores: 25-15, 25-19 and 25-16.
The home team coach, Yu Juemin, shared his joy after his team won the match in the following way, “This is our match in this year’s FIVB World Grand Prix. Puerto Rico is a team with special characteristics and contains players with high level of individual
ability. We made a lot of substitutions today, and experimented with two different lineups in order to assess the form of our players.”   
On the other hand, the Puerto Rican coach, David Aleman, commented on the outcome of the match by making the following statements, “We are very much aware of the fact that China is one of the best teams in the world, and we worked hard in order to compete
with them today which is a good learning experience.”
The Chinese were able to assert themselves from the start of the match by taking the lead and stretching it further despite the attempts of the Argentinean squad to close in the gap. The superior attacking skills of the home team earned them the first set
at 25-15.
The Puerto Ricans got themselves the lead in the second set at 8-7 but the Chinese were able to take over at 18-11. After that point, the Puerto Ricans fell behind as China secured another frame at 25-19 based on their excellent coordination and reception
skills. The performance of the Puerto Ricans dwindled in the third set as the loss of the first two frames weighed on them. As a result China, was able to bag the frame in a short period of time at 25-16.
