It is highlighting human rights violations by the Chinese authorities. But how can the US even begin talking about human rights after the atrocities they have and are committing in Iraq and Afghanistan? People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones...

  1. Iraq and Afghanistan suck anyway.

  2. Man I would love to see an American President stand in Beijing and call China to task for the millions killed in the cultural revolution, the slaughter of the Tibetans and the slavery imposed on its people today by its own govt. Look folks, this person is emblematic of a dictatorship and its followers who would try to confuse the already confused into thinking that the U.S. and China are the same. Fact is, they are not.

  3. China wants to be a superpower, but they act like a fascist dictatorship.

That is my problem with them.

We have a lot to fix in the US, but that doesn't stop me from not like other countries that are oppressive.

  4. you bet ye.

  5. Definitely, the human right in China is not so bad as described by foreign media. If you have seen the Olympic in Beijing, you would see the true. The good result in Beijing was achieved by Chinese and will be distributed to the whole country. It proved that Chinese people can achieve their human right by themselves.

Foreign power should stop pressing China on human right issues. Otherwise, they just presenting their dictatorship and ignored the human right of Chinese to struggle by themselves.

Human right right has to be achieved by the struggle of local people. You can see the failure in Iraq and even Georgia. Foreign power just get things worse. There is no free lunch. If you want your right, your have to defense it by yourself.

  6. Your comparing apples with oranges.  War is war and what is happening in Iraq and Afghanistan can not be compared as the same and what happens in China.  Now try comparing the meaning of human rights on an every day basics.  In America you can demonstrate your feelings against your country or government with out the fear of being thrown into jail or being killed for those ideas.  You can go on the internet and spout your feelings and now one is stop you.  You can have as many children as you want there is no government control.  This is just a very small example of the differences.

  7. America has had a problem since losing the war in Vietnam, they have not had a military success since. It must hurt.

  8. i havent heard anything during the actual olympics about china's human right violations and genocide and war are 2 diffrent things

  9. I would imagine  the now homeless Chinese - due to forced evictions would be ever grateful for a glass house or a tee pee  or even an igloo  at this point in time. I'd like to hear how splendid they think their country is for hosting  the Olympics and no I don't think the U.S. is in any position to point fingers of blame. We need a total government overhaul.
