Chinese water polo team overwhelmed Brazil in their fourth game on day five of the ongoing 2012 Women’s Pan Pacs at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC), on Thursday, January 12.
It was a one-sided game from the start and the Chinese performed really well, capturing the victory with a 16-5 score in four-quarter game.
The Chinese showed their ruthless aggression in the first quarter, where they stroke three goals in a row while the Brazilian squad failed to show any advancement on their scorecard. The round concluded with a score of 3-0, China being in a clear lead for
victory.
Unlike the first round, Brazilians accelerated their efforts and successfully claimed two goals in the second round. Their effort was followed by three goals from the Chinese side, which made them prominent for the win. After the second round, China extended
its lead to four goals and the score went up to 6-2 after first half.
Just like the halftime, Brazilians failed to substantiate any effort against their opponent and were able to score just one goal in third quarter. On the other hand, the Chinese team elevated their efforts and found their opponent’s cage six times, moving
the score to 12-3 at the end of third round.
The same continued in fourth quarter, where Brazilian players tried hard to restrict their opponents from scoring more goals, but they failed to achieve so. They were able to notch only two goals in the final round while their opponents responded with four
goals and the round concluded with China’s clear victory.
Huan Huan Ma of China played a vital role in grabbing win for her team. She scored five goals for her team and was nominated as the top goal scorer of the match.
