China rules in Women’s Doubles event of Indonesia Open 2012 – Badminton News
Women’s Doubles experts of China served notice of their supremacy by clinching three out of four spots in semi-final round of the Djarum Indonesia Open on Friday June 15, 2012.
The quarter-finals of this Super Series event were staged in Istora Senayan Stadium of Jakarta and Chinese female shuttlers managed to stand out.
This splendid saga includes victories of Wang Xiaoli-Yu Yang, Bao Yixin-Zhong Qianxin and Tian Qing-Zhao Yunlei.
World Number one pair Wang Xiaoli-Yu Yang was up against Shizuka Matsuo-Mami Naito while the twosome of Bao Yixin and Zhong Qianxin faced Jung Kyung Eun-Kim Ha Na before clash of the compatriots Huan Xia-Tang Jinhua and Tian Qing-Zhao Yunlei.
The top seeded duo of the event Xiaoli-Yang remained lucky as their Japanese challengers conceded walkover and allowed them to proceed into second last round of tournament without playing a single shot.
However, the next Chinese campaigner had to sweat hard to lead country into next stage of this race for glory.
World Number ten duo Bao Yixin-Zhong Qianxin forged a fruitful chemistry against higher ranked Korean rivals and survived this tough trial.
They wrapped the show in just two games by registering favourable figures of 21-18 and 21-11. Their next challenge is to surpass national number one pair Xiaoli-Yang.
Last chapter of this victory saga was also very captivating as two world beaters were locked for one vacant spot in semi-finals.
The twosome of Tian Qing and Zhao Yunlei, currently positioned second in world rankings, sealed a straight-set victory over compatriot duo Huan Xia-Tang Jinhua.
They took just 23 minutes in court and dazzled their opponent with a lustrous performance in both segments of the show.
In first set of this contest, they launched an intensive attack and pushed their rivals on the back-foot by placing 11-5 total before interval.
After mid-game break, they made best out of this initial advantage and bagged opening set with 21-11 score on the board.
The second segment of this encounter also belonged to Tian Qing-Zhao Yunlei who played at their best while piling up a winning margin of 21-15.
Now the victorious duo will test their skills against Indonesian contenders Meiliana Jauhari-Greysia Polii to ensure all-China finals in Indonesia Open 2012.
