China sweeps Chinese Taipei in 2012 FIVB Women’s World Grand Prix match – Volleyball news
The second round of the 2012 FIVB Women’s World Grand Prix started off on June 15, 2012 with some of the matches being held in Foshan, China.
One of the matches saw the home team clash with Chinese Taipei which resulted in China extending their winning streak by making a clean sweep over their opponents.
Not only did China win the match in three straight sets, they were able to do so by maintaining their superiority in each of the frames. The score board showed the following final set scores: 25-13, 25-17 and 25-19.
The home team coach, Yu Juemin, expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of the match in the following manner, “Chinese Taipei is a team that has strong features. Their defence is excellent. In our team there are some young players, they should learn
from Chinese Taipei. Today our team’s attack and block are good, so we win the match.”
On the other hand, the Chinese Taipei coach, Norimasa Sakakuchi, gave the following comments at the press conference conducted after the match had reached its close, “Compared with China our block and attack are too weak. China are so strong and experienced,
and we have to learn more from China.”
The home team was able to get the lead early on in the first set and speed to the first technical time out with an advantage of 8-3. The Chinese Taipei fell to making errors, particularly in the service area that made it easier for China to move on to the
