In the world of Badminton, China has become the dominant force as it is producing more and more world class players when compared to any other country or nation in the entire world. It has a great Badminton culture and provides maximum opportunities to enthusiasts
in every nook and corner of their territory.
Badminton is one of the major games played in the country. The Chinese nation has proved itself as the ruling nation in the game, by grabbing major titles of badminton in the opening decade of the 21st century and their impressive run in this
field is quite consistent until today.
Badminton is an international game played in almost every area of the globe. This leading indoor game is gradually pulling the attention of more and more sports’ buffs. The governing body of Badminton in China, the Chinese Badminton Association was established
in Wuhan, the provincial capital of Hubei on September 11, 1958. This is a non-governmental organisation and represents China in the Badminton World Federation, formerly known as International Badminton Federation.
China has a well-organised badminton nursery from where it produces incredible athletes who usually dominate the international arena of badminton. Currently, there is no other country that has such an aggressive approach as China, in regarding to the game
of Badminton. It has produced legends like Yang Yang and Sun Jun, who are considered as the all-time best shuttlers throughout the world. Chinese players more prominently started to dominate international badminton from 2000.
In the Sydney Olympics (2000) Games, Chinese shuttlers grabbed 4 gold medals and proved their supremacy in the world of badminton. It was the start of a more progressive era, as China started to produce a bulk of superb players and for the consecutive fourth
time, Chinese players have won the Sudirman Cup. Afterwards, every major title was occupied by Chinese shuttlers in all categories of the game.
There are several reasons for the consistent supremacy of Chinese shuttlers in the arena of Badminton. There is an excellent system which exists in China, as players from every area of the country are provided with world class opportunities that play a vital
role in the enhancement of their skills. The strongly integrated training system is the basic element that makes players mentally and physically prepared to fight at the international level.
The players are usually taken from the very early age of 5-6 years and provided with the best facilities to transform them into the top class athletes. State-of-the-art training centres furnished by the latest equipment are provided to the players. Same
opportunities are also provided to the players living in the remote areas of the country.
Domestic tournaments become a major source of talent hunt in China. The prominent players in these national level events are provided with the opportunity to represent their country in the international badminton events. World-class training is provided
to these players under the supervision of the best coaches, who work hard to eliminate all weaknesses and improve the quality of the players from every aspect of the game. The major focus of the coaches remains on the physical and mental strength of the players,
along with the tactics and techniques employed in the matches. By employing the un-matched system, China has truly become the dominant force in the world of Badminton.
Another important aspect is that former Chinese legends of badminton, have actively contributed their services for the growth of the youngsters. These former champions always remain a source of inspiration for the younger players.
Currently, China is ruling the arena as it has won every title in the world of Badminton. In the Men’s Singles category, Chen Jin of China is the reigning World Champion and another Chinese, Lin Dan is the ruling Olympic Champion. Lin Dan is following his
predecessors as he has also clinched the World Championships’ title for three times. Same is the case with all other categories of the game, as Chinese players have won gold medals in Olympics and also in the World Championships.
