China’s Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng win Men’s Doubles title at the Japan Open Super Series
China’s World Number One duo of Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng claimed the Men’s Doubles title without facing much problem from Indonesia’s Mohammad Ahsan and Bona Septano in the final battle of the 2011 Yonex Japan Open Super Series, in Japan, on Sunday, September
25.
The current World Champions and top seeds in the Japan Open delivered a remarkable performance by playing positive badminton in the final match and finished it in straight games by taking 45 minutes in the court. The higher ranked Chinese shuttlers remained
calm and composed during the match which helped them in employing all of their skills in an effective manner.
In the starting points of the first game, the wonderful exchange of few rallies thrilled the crowd as both pairs employed incredible strokes which proved that they belong to shuttlers of the elite class. The quality of the game was touching its maximum height
as both experienced sides played to their full potential.
However, the Chinese shuttlers occupied the driving seat by keeping the pace of the rallies high. They built up a four-point lead by reaching at 11-7 until the one-minute interval in the first game.
After the break, the Indonesians tried to recover from a four-point deficit but their challengers were too strong. The Chinese duo continued their domination in the opening set and won it by a 21-13 margin in 19 minutes.
The following set of the match was incredible as both parties played attacking and positive badminton. It was a match between shuttlers of the highest class who proved their worth by playing top-quality badminton. The score remained tight from both sides
as they played a flawless game until the break when the Chinese pair was slightly ahead at 11-10.
The score continued to progress in a similar manner and reached at 21-21, when the aggression of Yun and Haifeng earned them two consecutive points and they won the set by a 23-21 margin, in 26 minutes. The score of this 45-minute fabulous contest was 21-13
and 23-21.
