China’s Ding Junhui clinches 2012 Championship League Snooker beating England’s Judd Trump in final
After putting up an excellent snooker show at the Crondon Park Golf Club in Stock, England, China’s Ding Junhui hit the 2012 Championship League Snooker by the score line of 3-1 against the 2011 World Snooker Championship runner up, England’s Judd Trump.
The Chinese potter was outstanding at the baize and paid the Bristolian back in the ultimate battle of the event.
Junhui played against Trump on the first day of the event where he was defeated after a tussling clash by a close score line of 2-3. The Chinese played in four matches on Day 1 and won three of them against the 2012 Haikou World Open winner Northern Ireland’s
Mark Allen, the former World Snooker Champion Neil Robertson and the 2012 Snooker Shootout winner England’s Barry Hawkins.
On the second day of the event, he played two matches against Mark Davis and former World Snooker Champion Shaun Murphy. Out of these two matches, he was able to win only one game against Davis by an easy score line of 3-1 which was enough for him to hit
the playoffs of the tournament.
The Chinese cueist faced the 2012 Snooker Shootout winner England’s Barry Hawkins in the semi-final encounter. The contest was a piece of cake for the World Number six as he stormed into the triumph with 3-1 score line. Despite being in a good form, Hawkins
dropped down against the 2012 Welsh open winner and lost his chance to win the Championship League Snooker 2012.
Hawkins had a superb start in the match with a stunning knock of 52 points in the first frame to lead the match 0-1. After that the Chinese took control of the match and won it clinching three consecutive frame wins.

However, the situation was a bit different this time as Junhui was all set to take on the Bristolian. A sensational break of 117 points in the first round brought the 24-year-old Junhui on top with 1-0 score line. Trump sprang back in the next frame to win
it by 72-15 and move within one frame up at 1-1. Junhui took care of the rest and grabbed the match victory by 3-1 clinching back-to-back frame wins.
