China’s females dominate international arena in Women’s Doubles category – Badminton News
China’s females have remained dominant in the international arena of Badminton, in the Women’s Doubles category for a long time now. Women’s Doubles shuttler of Malaysia, Chin Eei h*i says that there are many new pairs who are working well and reducing the
difference between them and the Chinese shuttlers, but it will take years to come at the level of China.
In the absence of Chinese shuttlers, Japanese females delivered a superb performance in the India Open Super Series. In the final of the event, it was an all Japan affair, as both Japanese pairs managed to reach in the final of the championship.
In the title match, Satoko Suetsuna and Miyuki Maeda emerged as the winners against team-mates, Reika Kakiiwa and Mizuki Fujii. The winning pair in India had also clinched the Women’s Doubles title in the German Open GP Gold 2011.
Ying Suet Tse and Lok Yan Poon of Hong Kong are also progressing at the international level, earning a good repute for themselves and their country. The pair won against some top teams on different occasions, proving that they are not far behind the best
players in the world.
Eei h*i stated that it is good to see many new faces coming at the top, but also said, “It will still be years before they can catch up with the top pairs from China and South Korea.”
The Malaysian added, “China’s top women’s pairs did not take part in the India Open. In their absence, Japan were dominant`. The Japanese pairs have been on the circuit for some time and only became more prominent this year.”
Eei h*i said that Chinese females belong to the highest class of the game, whereas the shuttlers from Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong and Malaysia are working hard to lift their game to challenge the Chinese in future.
The Malaysian shuttler added that Chinese Women’s Doubles shuttlers are not participating in the upcoming event of the Malaysia Open GP Gold. In the absence of Chinese females, the Japanese pairs will be major opponents in the event.
