Second Stage Game-2: China 84- Japan 58
China once again proved their valour against Japan on 21st September in the second stage of Asian Championship in Wuhan, China. The Chinese team comfortably defeated Japan 84-58 and continued their unbeaten run in the
tournament.
Chinese guard Yi Li proved wonderful for his team as he scored 19 points and five rebounds. Though, Japan had already qualified into the quarterfinals, but playing in this game, they looked not so impressive.  Overall the Japanese
team did well in its group F with 3-2 record and prepared to take on South Korea in the quarterfinal.
China played tremendously in the first quarter and took 21-16 lead at the end of the period. With five points lead in the first quarter, the Chinese team pushed Japan further in the second quarter and stretched their lead to 14
points at the end of first half.
Japan tried to comeback in the third quarter but still fell short of one point at the end of the quarter 16-17 while overall score reached at 61-46 in China’s favour. China maintained its lead until the fourth quarter and eventually
won the game 58-84.
Wei Liu scored 14 points, five rebounds and assists for China. Yue Sun added seven, Jianlian Yi posted, 18, FangYu Zhu gathered eight and ZhiZhi Wang landed 13 points, three rebounds and only assists for team China.
Takuya Kawamura’s match high 24 points and four rebounds were also not enough for Japan. The only other player from Japan who scored in double figures was Kosuke Takeuchi. He scored 10 points and seven rebounds
Quarter Final: China 68- Lebanon 48

On 23rd September, China overpowered Lebanon 68-48 in the Asian Championship quarterfinals and booked their place in the semi-finals. China held off their opponents from start of the game and remained unmatchable until
the end.
Chinese team played tremendously and never gave any loop holes to Lebanon. The Lebanese team was only able to score 28 percent from field goals and could not do much against the defensive strategy of China. Taking the lead in first
quarter 12-14, the Chinese team gradually stretched the lead in the second quarter 22-28. The Third and fourth quarter was also dominated by China and eventually won the game 68-48.
Li Yi and Yue Sun scored five points apiece while Jianlian Yi and ZhiZhi each scored12 points for china. Wei Liu posted team high 13 points, one rebound and one assist.
Samuel Hoskin played wonderfully for Lebanon as he scored 20 points, 10 rebounds and one assist. But his tremendous individual performance could not save the game for Lebanon. Ghaleb Reda also played well and scored 15 points,
and four rebounds.
