Chinchilla Help!?

Please Help me out here!

I have had my male chinchilla (mickey) and my female chin (glinda) in the same cage for quite some time now and she hasn't had any kits. I got her from a breeder and him from PetCo. Mickey is older than glinda who is over a year old. They both get along great and are very cute together <3! I am just wondering why they haven't had any kits yet. I'm starting to worry if there is something wrong.

- i'm positive that they're a female, male couple =)

  1. firstly go to a vet and get them sexed professionally then you will know.

are they related? if they are you should not use them for breeding

  2. Once you've fallen in love with your chinchilla it's not going to be long before you decide that you might want to try to breed chinchillas. When you answer this question, be honest and unselfish- remember that both the parents and babies are living breathing animals that need a certain level of care and attention. Will you be able to find homes for the babies? Do you have the money for a visit to the vet for a $600 (sometimes more) procedure required to save the life of your chinchilla and its babies?
