Chinese Algae Bloom-disposal?

Question

After reading about the cleanup of the Chinese Algae Bloom in time for the Olympics, I am wondering--What do they do with all that algae? Can it be composted and turned into fertilizer, or is it too rich and 'green'?

Anyone know what can be done to make algae and pond scum useful?

Dried algae makes great compost and fertilizer, it's nitrogen content is huge.
