As an overseas Chinese, do you feel superior to the local mainland Chinese when you visit China?

Feel superior like you can speak more language than them, your fashion sense are better than them, Ringgit is bigger than RMB etc etc...

  1. We are cleaner than the PRC Chines.

eg.1:We are in bare foot when we in our own home sweet home, while they wear the shoe from outside until their bedrooms.

eg.2: We have bath twice per day, they even skip bath while in M'sia

Our Chinese girls are more elegant than theirs.

    eg.PRC females talk loud,always were cheap+low V blouse.

We oversea Chinese are more like Jews, and they are more like Communist..When Jews vs Communists, who will win?you guess.

They are getting rich,no doubt. But we oversea traditional Chinese still keep the virtues of Confucianism (most of us).

I guess almost all the PRC Chinese clever people had been executed by Mao, before the former could leave their offspring.

Finally,we must be aware the PRC Chinese are already corrupted Chinese,we oversea Chinese are the last descendants who have the obligation to be Chinese and keep spreading our brilliant genes throughout the world. Why Jews are still Jews when they are minority outside Israel?

    aiyoh...

    im indo chinese..can answer not?

i never feel superior to other nationalities..in this case ( your Q), Chinese..

their fashion sense in hongkong is actually very good leh..

shanghai is sooo futuristic..and what do i have in my own country?

    *shame shame*

speaking more languages doesnt make anyone more superior at all..

i dont even think of the language...my languages are all chapalang de..

    english - broken

    chinese - lousy

    malay - tak paham

    indo - very rusty already...

somehow i feel kinda insecure when travelling in china..not because of the security..or lack of it..

instead, my backdated lousy chinese...make it very hard for me to shop and bargain la..

hey..at least i know how to ask where is the rest room!

  3. seriously.. i am a chinese malaysian.. honestly, i felt a little bit prouder because i can handle more language the chinese at china. and of course, ringgit is bigger than RMB is good because it make me feel like i'm rcher or something. but it does not mean that we chinese malaysian proud... our curency is bigger doesnot mean any things.. china is a nation that really good.. every country have its own good and bad.. we are good in language, china ppl is good in brain...

  4. No , because our Malaysia brian is not as good as them.

  5. the only advantage i know i have is i in boleh land not communist land where they will shoot you first then arrest u ........lol

  6. In a way...*shame-faced*

To be more precise, I feel slightly luckier that I've had the privilege of being exposed to better things in life, such as, being able to speak English, that I can have as many children as I can afford, I can travel freely to many countries, I live comfortably; nice house, nice car, etc. Many outside the cities are still living in dire conditions. Many yet have the chance of education.

The gap between the rich and poor is very big; super-rich and hard-core poor. The super-rich goes to Hong Kong and buy out the designer stores, well, almost!

But I felt really, really small when I tried haggling with them during a shopping trip because I couldn't speak Mandarin very well. :-(

  7. When I visit China, I've more surprises than feeling superior. They are so creative and much smarter than us. Still can feel superior?

Speak more languages than them? Maybe yes. But which language can we speak well? Can we speak proper Mandarin? Our broken Mandarin can only compete with the Singaporean. Can we speak better English??? I don't think so....Our Malaysia English just as bad as singlish. We cannot speak proper language ....except our own dialect.

Fashion sense? Hahaha....wearing expensive and branded cloths will not make you superior in fashion sense. This is just showing off buying power. Being brainlessly following the fashion trend is a sign of low IQ and low self-esteem.

Ringgit bigger than RMB....so what. After 2010 when malaysia become another oil-import-dependent country. The ringgit will be lower than RMB and maybe lower than Indonesia. RMB had been purposely set at low exchange rate because the China government want to have better market competitive power to other countries.

    Conclusion:

Chinese Malaysian can be proud of having a non-communist government and having freedom in religion. (for now)

  8. Honestly, no. I respect them coz they are smart. The rich can be richer than me. The poor has suffered more than me. I don't think I would be able to take the hardship like some of them do. Another thing is that they can speak Chinese and I can't... not even any dialect properly. So I don't consider myself any more superior than any good people in China.

  9. i don't feel like this frankly speaking

now the Chinese ppl in China getting more and more rich due to their economic booming so i don't feel any superior than them but i must said be careful of them they willl try to sell fake things

  10. superior, no

but there are things that I am proud of. For one, we are living in a more democratic life, we have free access to internet, in China, alot of website are being blocked. there are alot of freedom we enjoy that china don't have, most of us just don't realize it because we have it too easy here. china is still very much a communist government.

That said, China, as a county themself, is a very powerful country although they are what I would say on extreme ends. On one extreme end, they are corrupted, their manufacturing industry is way, way, way and i say way, below what a advance country should be. Their industry are cheap and corrupted, they use banned chemicals, items, manufacturing process, and what not.

but on another extreme end, they have nuclear weapon technology, and they are the 3rd country to send an astronaut into orbit, and this is special, because other than US and Russia, no other nation have the technology to send an astronaut into orbit by themself, but China manage to develope their very own space program.

So, in no way we are more superior compared to China, they are a world superpower, once of the 3 world superpweor after US and Russia. These are the 3 countries you don't want to mess with

  11. No actually hahahahaha!

First I have many Chinese friends from mainland those that came here for studies/work and most of them can speak several dialects and languages as well.

Many times THEY will correct my pronunciation in Mandarin AND even Cantonese. Malaysian's slang & celup sini sana skill really effected the grammar & pronounciation *shame shame* LOL.

And they are very hardworking & their maths most time kick Axx. Many of the guys know how to cook & hand the wok like kung fu!

So..for that reason, I actually feel humble by their knowledge & skills & IF I get to go to China I will marvel & try to celup as much as I can.

    hohoho...

  12. A star for you. That's all i can do.

  13. i chinese malay..but more malay lol......little bit chinese..my mom chinese..and my dad malay...my grandpa......malay also

but dun know speak chinese...little only
